40-Day Health & Fitness Challenge

I check my weight every morning. According to a doctor its when your weight is suppose to be the most accurate. For a couple of months now I maintained my weight at 55kg.  Despite continuing to exercise I’m stuck at that. My muscles stopped growing. I think this is the state wherein my body is in plateau.

I told my husband about it. And for the gazillionth time he says, “Its with what you eat hun.”
Alright, alright… It is really with what I eat. You see we have this weekend supposed-to-be-cheat-meals but what happens is I cheat all day long.
Cakes, cheese rolls, chips, chocolates -my great enemies. Although I don’t buy them, you will occasionally find these things at home, especially when the mom and the mom-in-law visits. I couldn’t resist to eat them! :P
After weekend trainings when teammates or myself suggest to eat somewhere, the first place we think of is S&R, where you can buy a huge box of pizza for Php500 and an unlimited drink for Php49. Oh! So yum!
There are times when I need to be at my daughters’ school for PTC or when parent officers have meeting. I never fail on having these for snack: fishballs, cheese sticks, iced Milo and sometimes cheese flavor dirty ice cream. Hahaha!
I hope my husband don’t get to read this. :P
So today, I pledge for 40 days that I will get rid of these unhealthy/ junk food. In addition:
  • I will not have any processed meat products such us bacon, burger, corned beef, ham and hotdog;
  • No sodas, bottled juices, coffee and even milk tea (bye Gong Cha wintermelon milk tea);
  • Will not eat food from Jollibee, McDonalds and the like; and
  • I will not have pork.

Cheat meal will stay. Strictly 1 meal! I guess I can still have chocolates! After all, it releases endorphins! :D

My food intake will be logged everyday plus my work out/ daily routine. Lets see if I can do this! Good luck to me! :D

Livin’ La Vida Imelda: Carlos Celdran in Silverlens’ Slab
The tour is now a show. Take The CCP walking tour without all that - well, walking.
Since 2004, performance artist and cultural activist Carlos Celdran has been performing his multi-media 1970’s Philippine history and disco themed “Livin’ La Vida Imelda” tour/ performance at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex. His performance explores issues of Cold-War geopolitics, the global influence of Hollywood, Philippine Post-colonial cultural identity and it’s constructs, the ideals of democracy in developing nations, and the creation of what Mr. Celdran likes to call: “State sanctioned arts & culture”. This gossipy performance is framed by the biography of the Philippine’s flamboyant former first lady Imelda Marcos and set to disco music.
In lieu of the setting provided by Mrs. Imelda Marcos’ commissioned architecture, Mr. Celdran will be using handmade visual guides, multi-media and selected artworks among the Silverlens/SLab collection as a jumping point for the “Livin’ La Vida Imelda” narrative. This is the second time Mr. Celdran has transposed the performance to a gallery setting. “Livin’ La Vida Imelda - The Performance” premiered in 2011 at Twist Gallery in Toronto, Canada.

The Mom paddles…

2012 is my 2rd year with PDRT (Phil. Dragonboat Rowing Team) Fireblades. If you think about it in school years I’m just in kinder 2. :P

Started dragon boat 2007 in Dubai. I was having lunch in a cafeteria one day with my colleague, Ben. We were chatting about sports and other stuff. He mentioned that he’s the captain of a dragon boat team and invited me to try it. The next day I showed up at the venue and so there begins my journey…

The Noodle House Dragons - my first dragon boat team. Taken during my first and last race in Dubai :P

After 6 months of training I needed to stop because of my tight schedule at work. All I can do then was take photos on race events.

Phil - my husband (not Younghusband :P) started dragon boat paddling in Singapore with Safra before coming to Dubai.
